The more ambitious and over-the-top a New Year’s resolution, the likelier it is to fail; it could take a few weeks or a few months, but the outcome is depressingly consistent. This year, why not resolve to be a little more realistic in your goals and expectations? If you’ve been struggling with a cluttered home or business, know that you don’t have to go it alone—lean on self storage in 2014 to help you uphold your New Year’s resolution and live better.
For three months beginning this past September, Apple Self Storage set aside a portion of the proceeds from every new storage unit rental in support of an organization making a significant impact in its community. Earlier this month the ABLE Network was the recipient of a $6,695 cheque, following a company-wide fundraising effort that surpassed expectations.
The fundraiser was appropriately capped off at the annual Apple Self Storage Awards Dinner on December 1st. Staff presented the cheque to the ABLE Network during a night of fun and good food, which also offered a chance to reflect on and celebrate the year that was. Tough economic conditions presented challenges for many in 2013, including non-profit organizations, which rely on donations and volunteer support to continue running strong.
The ABLE Network takes an active role in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Program participants receive training and support in a number of areas, including literacy, transit and healthy living. The organization’s main goal is to prepare participants to live happily and independently, and workplace training represents a significant step in achieving that goal. By providing a natural, inclusive environment, the ABLE Network prepares participants to reach their full potential and make a positive impact within their community. Apple Self Storage is proud to support the ABLE Network and its valuable work.
A special “thank you” to all the customers who helped push the fundraiser beyond expectations.
And until December 23rd, by dropping off a non-perishable food item at any of the three Halifax-area Apple Self Storage facilities you’ll save 10% off the cost of a new storage unit. All food collected will then be donated to a local food bank to support individuals and families in need.
Hello Storage Hunters!
Today’s unit is one of those rare gems auctioneers come across ever so often. This unit had a BMW Z4 convertible in it – it’s anyone’s guess if it still works. It’s pretty rare that a (nice) whole car is left for auction, it’s only happened at Apple Storage once (a red Chevy Camaro).
So take a look at the gallery, the starting bid is $4,500. Remember, if you’re closest to the actual final bid we send you a $25 gift card of your choosing (Amazon, iTunes, Starbucks). To bid comment on our Facebook page post! Please only one bid per person.

With the holiday season on the horizon, there’s no better time to pause for reflection and spend some much-needed time with the people you care most about. But for many families in Canada, the idyllic scenes presented on TV and in Christmas cards don’t reflect reality. That’s why Apple Self Storage has decided to hold a series of food drives, which are taking place now at three Halifax-area storage facilities in the run-up to Christmas.
